Audi 50
Hugely Long shot!
Wanted - Audi 50 in any condition so long as its all legit. Replies in this thread or via PM please. Or just laugh at the rareness :D |
Have ya seen god recently????????
you've got more chance! there's always a couple for sale on mobile.de http://suchen.mobile.de/fahrzeuge/sh...n&pageNumber=1 |
haha! I'm sure i seen him yesterday in fact :D
My god thats mint but i didn't think they'd be that expensive, there was one on ebay - germany earlier that was for sale with 6hrs to go at 1 Euro. it was basically a shell - but still! I think i'd like to find one in need of major TLC and give it some love! Thanks for the web link though - i'll keep checkin it out! :) |
In fairness, that Red 50 on Mobile dot de has been up for sale for at least 6 months now.
so, I'd have thought by now that the seller should have realised he's taking the piss a bit with his price! Hard really to say what they go for as they seldom come up for grabs. Just buy an early Mk1 polo and stick an Audi badge on it! ;) |
|
oh stop teasing with those pics - i never thought i'd like a green one but the dark green one about half way down those pics is absolutely gorgeous!
Should i be unsucessful in finding a 50 (and damn it i will find one...ggrrr!) what are the real tell tale differences between the polo and the 50? interiors? a few exterior bits? the badge? lol. |
less scene tax with an Audi......
|
As I recall there was virtually no difference between the early Polo and Audi 50. In fact the Polo was just a re-badged Audi 50.
In fact I have got an Audi 50 badge somewhere and a grille badge so just find a Polo and you can rebadge it!!!! Mike |
audi 50
Hello all,
Carsnmusic, I think that this one is still for sale : http://cgi.ebay.fr/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...MEWA:IT&ih=008 I've discussed with the seller : - The tires must be changed - There's a little leak at the radiator - A couple of dings on the front of the bonnet and the right wing (Both at the same location) - The right hand mounting of the front bumper is a little bit twisted, but the bumper is OK. Excepted these points, the car is in very nice condition. From the opinion of a friend of mine, specialised in this car, its value should be +/- 1300 euros. Tell me if you want me to contact him. Cheers, Patrick |
and a footnote to Carsandmusic, don't let the distance put you off. The chances of finding a genuine Audi 50 in the UK are slim to none. In the grand scheme of things, France ain't that far away (and if you drove over to collect it, you could fill up with fags and booze to pay for the petrol!)
Somethings are just worth biting the bullet for and this is one of them! I doubt you'd get another chance of a clean, tidy, low mileage Audi 50 for about a grand, well, not in the near future anyway. |
Yes - that looks quite tidy considering rust prevention was an unknown science at the time.
I used to have a set of those (hideous looking) rubber over-riders on my Mk1 Polo - probably still got them somewhere!!!!!! |
This one is for sale in Denmark at the moment - It needs somme TLC though:)

Sorry I haven't been on this site for a long time - I do like that white one - its quite nice. Not too expensive at all really, but by the time one buys one's Audi 50 some 13/14 inch dished rims things will get pricey!
Thanks a lot for the feedback people, much appreciated! I will check out the rest of that red one later...i'll figure out my danish to try and log in!! |
a friend of mine has many audi 50.
As far as I know, he has to sell some of them, I'll ask him for confirmation, and I'll give you what you need to contact him;) |

hi
yes, i have some news.. but for you it is a bad news. sorry in fact he changed his mind and he prefer to keep his cars. i'm sure you'll find one !! :-) have you seen this one ? http://www.leboncoin.fr/vi/19662299.htm?ca=7_s |
I've kinda figured a while ago that if you're after an early car (audi/vw etc), then sometimes you don't really have any other option than to look abroad to find one.
It's really not that difficult to bring one into the UK and get it registered. For the rarity value alone, don't let the red tape put you off. It's only a matter of getting it MOT'd, going down the DVLA with your papers and registering the vehicle. Within a few days, you will have been allocated your age related plate and away you go! |
