The "Made in Indonesia" label of today's Adidas trainers doesn't quite match up to the mark of "Made in West Germany" label of the 70s & 80s, for me somehow . .
I like to know that I'm getting value for my deutschmarks, dont-you-know . . :D Mind you, I'd roll over and play dead for a pair of these Marathon 80, no matter where they were made! >> http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...pslo6kotbm.jpg :arf: |
I know what you mean, Craig. The re issue of adidas Trimm Trab from the last decade or so is an insult to the original 80s issue. :shake:

Has anyone noticed the centre console armrests are from the facelift (2000 onwards) version? Original A8 had narrow arm rests a la photo below. So not as original as you might think! I'm a big fan of the original A8 but I must admit I have a preference for the facelift version.

And on the subject of runners, these are my favorite ever. I loved wearing them while driving, especially on twisty roads.

I did notice they appeared to be a different colour to both the dash plastic and seat facings, hadn't placed them as being 'wrong' for the year! |
I had noticed the armrests being the later type (and a different colour).
Easily changed back to the original ones, if so desired. Agree that the facelift is much nicer, but I like the fact it is an early-ish one. |
