Anybody like ac/dc?

Gordon WR 26-07-09 05:37 PM

I was at the Isle of Wight in 1970 and I remember watching them at about 2am, if I remember correctly!!
Hendrix was also there and we went on to his last gig in Germany at Insel Fehman the week after.

I salute you.... Hendrix, shit I would have loved to have seen that man. Is he as good live as on vinyl?

Fantastic band.
Saw 'em on the Razors edge tour at Wembley arena in '91....best gig ever been too!
I have the Aussie only issue of the Boombox set (all the Oz versions of the cd's) in one box!
Then I got the French version with all the mini vinyl recreation cd's......Wife thinx I'm nuts !
Have just finished reading "AC/DC Maximum Rock n' Roll" by Murray Engleheart.
Interesting facts but prettily humourless and boringly written......
Try Lemmy's autobiography for a much funnier read !
Motorhead rool too !!!!!

Little story about the DC. I was 10 years old and we used to drive down to the south of France every year camping for a month as my Dad was on the rigs and in Saudi all the time. One year my family met up with a Fench Family and they became good friends. Anyway cut to the chase I was 10 or 13 **** cant remember, early eighties anyway. They had a daughter called Patricia and she was fookin hot! She was 15 and the biggest ac/dc fan. So got home and bought Highway to Hell, still have the original record and basiclly everytime I listen to the album, I fancy the french bird from years ago. Music is soooo cool, I attach everything memory to a tune!

The reports from the gigs say he was not at his best but I was gobsmacked !! On Sept 6th
Fehmarn was more compact than I O W and he started with Killing Floor and finished with Voodoo Child, somewhere in the set was Purple Haze, All along the Watchtower, Foxey Lady and Hey Joe,amongst others.
As we know sadly he died 12 days later, but I can never forget how awesome that gig was, much better ( in my mind) than IOW, and I feel privileged to have been there.

Oh my God this thread gets better and better. Zep are just awesome, I think I have most of their mainstream albums as I do for Deep Purple and for AC/DC. Also saw them at the NEC in 91 on the 'Razors Edge Tour'. Anyone rate the new album 'Black Ice'??
