I’m not sure how to go about this exactly, and I’ve been preoccupied for the last two months. However, I have made some initial inquiries regarding maintaining the forum for us interested dinosaurs.

I know a few of us have probably pm’d about this, previously, but if we could manage to keep in contact even if the forum goes down again, that would help.

Wow! So glad this site is back up again!!! I've been missing it.

We need this to survive

I’ve given Duffy my UK number for WhatsApp. It’s almost certain that there will be another outage; as far as I understand, the forum platform itself is quite old, and there are issues with whole database, so the main problems being time and some investment in maintenance.

I approached Coxy about this a while ago. I’m involved in a completely different forum (nothing to do with cars) and I’ve been picking the brains of that fella to try to get an idea of how we might ensure that the forum remains viable. Keen interest alone won’t cut it.

As a starting point, I’m going to assume that the regular contributors to this thread have an interest in getting it stabilised. But if the site goes down again, we need that alternative means of maintaining contact with interested parties.

Folks anybody else wanting to be kept updated can pop me a PM with contact details
I’ll try and pick them up on the rare days when the forum is up

I've PM'd you.
First order of the day would be to stop 900 guests from surfing the site!

I am still somewhat snowed under, but I’ll try to have a chat with Al. I’ve picked up some useful guidance regarding database maintenance from my other associate.
