Sorry to hear that. One of my twin Coupe GTs is for sale if you're interested. I know it doesn't replace your lovely motor, but the offer's there! Needs bits and pieces (as most cars do) but is taxed until the end of the month (can re-tax) and has 6 months MOT! I don't want to sell her but haven't got enough room to keep her unfortunately. :(

Do it properly, what if your back starts playing up in 6 months?

I got rear ended in my van, **all it did** was bend the towbar, but that force (50mm * 10mm angle plate) went through my back and neck.

Buy back yours for scrap value, buy the guy's above Coupe, use yours for spares. Jobzagoodun.

Make a claim.

I've just been through a claim after some square thing with big wheels changed lanes into me and wrecked the nearside front of my b3q and put a hole in my new tyre.

His insurers were Direct line who after initially giving me the runaround decided to take my car away for assessment and give me a hire car*. A week later the assessor phoned me and we had a chat where I said I didn't want any Cat3/4 stains on the record so we agreed on a cash amount and I repair the car myself. I got what I paid for the car twice over and enough left to pay for the spares car I already have, and a new tyre :D

The thing that got me through it was patience, and clean the car inside and out before they see it so it looks cherished rather than an old car, the transport co treated my car with kid gloves on and the assessor understood the worth of the car to me rather than it's book price (which there isn't).

*Enterprise car hire are crap, the staff are rude, they left me to walk home from work after the pre booked car hadn't come in and they still owe me ~£30. They gave me a Vectra sri on 19"s, the worst car I have ever driven on the road, seriously bad, bad as in shite, so enterprise car hire are shite, don't use them.
