I was perusing the Upullit website the other day & sadly this Quattro 2.8 is on it available for a full strip... Recognised it's look straight away.

I already knew it was dead (checked the tax register the other week) but I'm actually kinda sad to see that :( Is that the price for the whole car? Can it not be put back on the road? It only needs a set of springs! Well spotted anyway! |
That's the price to strip the whole car... it will have been 'depolluted' so that would hamper returning the car to the road, however if it's not a Category B or had a Cert of Destruction issued then in theory there's a chance it could go again? Yh it's sitting even lower than it was now!

The stuff that's in there's normally in there for a reason, be it Cat B write off (probably not in this case), Scrappage back in the day, or more lately Police seizure's (the no tax/insurance - we'll scrap your car powers), so it's doubtful it can go back on the road for legal reasons. The York site at least have been known to allow stuff offsite for breaking (I'd assume there's many hoops to jump through).
To be fair though, £500 ges a long way towards buying one of those that's still legally on the road, especcially now fuel prices are putting people off V6's. |
Not that I would ever buy it back, more curious than anything else :p
I would guess that the chopped springs are no longer seated looking at the ride height. It already hit the floor a LOT when they were seated, I'm thinking catastrophic sump damage... :arf: Still a real shame, it was a really nice car :nonod: |
nice alloys in the one pic ;)

Ah they look good on everything :ihih:
