I don't understand ppls, who like powerful cars, which are built with only one purpose - for straight line. Audi by default is noise heavy and that's bad, but audi and some entusiasts are placing in B series cars V8 engines... Even R5 engine turns audi into "gostraightoutofthecorner" :D In the same time I think it isn't impossible to create B3/B4 with 2.0 16vt/1.8 20vt with 50:50 weight distribution and power, that wouldn't be much lower than any 2.2 20vt :)

a v8 is a nice option, as i don't think its much different in weight to the 5 pot. and the v6 is actually lighter?

or have i got that wrong.?

(Edit: can't beat the sound of the 5 cylinder 10 valve tho..)

let alone the 2.7 biturbo V6 lump!

Heh-heh, words like these make my eyes water... Budget-wise, however the option seems to fade away.Next Audi will be at least a decent 5 cylinder, though!
Thanks :)

as i understand it the final 6 speed is the same as the 5 speeder, only have the extra cog mid range to play with, so good for laggy wr's/rs2[or should that read" non linear" power curves]?

crisarc 09-07-09 07:26 PM

sorry [wine] final 6 speeed ratio same ashh 5 shhhpeeder.....

so won't do anything for economy? :(

I was kinda hoping a 6 speed would give an 'extra' cog for cruising. :( :(

My thoughts exactly. In this case however, I think that the manufacturer has made sure the overall balance is as near optimal as possible...Will rethink my moves, but wow, what a lot of usable info!!:o
