Located on the edge of the Bugatti and Sarthe circuits, this museum is a car-lovers' paradise. Exhibits cover everything from the early history of motor racing through to what makes a car engine tick. The Musée Automobile de la Sarthe also includes a superb collection of 150 vehicles dating back as far as the late 19th century, including racing cars connected with some of the biggest stars past and present. Other attractions include audio-visual shows, a simulated high-speed track and a chance to walk the track.
Le Mans museum open: daily, June to September - 10:00 to 19:00; October to December and March to May - 10:00 to 18:00
Le Mans museum admission: charge

Heading that way on our way back home so wondered if its going to play into my hands or whether driving down the Mulsanne Straight will be the highlight.

cant wait eitherway.

That quattro was next to us on our camp site, looked pretty good but I hope his paintwork's in good nick otherwise he'll have fun taking the stickers off!

I thought 'Mad Friday" was a bit boring this year to be honest.. Gendarme everywhere.

The museum is well worth a visit, as it's all changed. A big revamp in April with loads of stuff to drool over, including some good driver profiles and lots of previous winning cars.

Its only about 8 euros to get in aswell, so well worth it if you're there. You can park around the back for free aswell!

I bet you spend more time drooling over the models of the pits complex than over the real cars Rich !! I think there are four or five displays showing the pits over the years complete with all the cars, marshals, mechanics and photographers etc etc.
