Thanks Obli,

More Questions, does the NG engine have a lambda probe in the exhaust? not found the lambda probe as yet but the wiring loom does have 2 pin plug for the heater in the lanbda probe and a single wire connector for the signal, CAT or link pipe missing, I am presuming the lambda probe if any screws into a threaded fitting on the CAT.
Any help greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

I ran a FWD NG engine Coupe for many years and over 100K miles, it was the car that converted me from running VW's to Audi's, they go quite well as long as all the senders are working and you don't have any vacuum leaks etc.

Anyway, yes they have Lambda sensor located on the engine side of the Cat.

My uncle has a 2.3E Coupe, fwd, so presumably NG. H plate I think. He said it doesn't have an ECU - is that right? Surely the data from the sensors is being sent somewhere.

NG engines have a basic ECU along with KE-Jetronic engine management. Some early B3 Coupe's use the KV motor which is simply K-jet though they're a 2.2.

From what I have seen, K Simmonds, you are correct, the car I have has the dash removed, found the two ECU's on the back seats with large plugs on wiring loom, don't know where or how they fit to the dash or fire wall, but I will work it out when refitting dash.

I seem to recall the ECU for the motor goes under the carpet at the top of the passenger foot well on the B3 Coupe with an NG motor, I'd imagine it's somewhere around there on the 90Q.

There will be two box's under the rear seat, the large one is an ABS brake control unit the other one with the vacuum pipe work is for the diff.

Yes, you are correct the large plug for the ECU is around that area.

The ECU on my 7A (early rev, Hitachi ECU) is up in the passenger footwell, behind the glovebox. It slides down from within a carrier. Yes, I have the ABS controller under the rear seat too. Replaced it (which fixed an ABS light that was always on).

I also have a 7A 20V in my B2 coupe GT that I did the conversion work on and placed the ECU in the same place, the B2 coupe has rust problems and is on the list of things to do but could be a year or so before I get round to it.
