Taken this morning. Had a look over.
First efforts at starting were rewarded by a 5 pot rumble.
I had fitted an auxiliary fuel pump relay last time, but that had died. Currently back to standard but will add a new relay later.
Neither window was working, passenger is now after cleaning switch. Both motors need to come out and be cleaned /replaced but not today.

The voltmeter needs to be recalibrated barely shows 12v when the battery reads 13.8v

It had aircon previously, but the internal rad (evaporator) has been removed, as has the other pieces from inside the car and the scuttle.
Anyone got those pieces?

Battery is almost certainly dead. I used a jump pack in parallel with the battery that I'd charged as much as possible to
Get it started. I may just use the one from the MB.

Probably some other minor issues-fix radio, fix Patrizia etc but that's for later.

Story in brief, is that i owned it before from 1997-2007, then moved To the USA for 5 years so had to sell. Regretted it, as I knew the history of the car from a year old, and tried to keep it in A1 condition, but needs must...

Since I returned back I've been keeping an eye out for it-checking it was still being MOT'd etc- and it was this thread that led Louise and Harvey to me.
The bodywork is excellent, the interior is leather, the wheels have been refurbed well, in Gun metal grey-I am beginning to like them. They add a good contrast.

More to follow. I'm determined that it will be a fun car to own, so I'm not going to work on it in the rain or cold...

Looks lovely. What a lucky guy you are!
Now you need to get that car port sorted.

I thought about digging up the front garden-having lift installed as per Soren...I'm only half joking!

Quite a story and kudos to Harvey / Louise for offering it back to you
