Marvellous, thanks for sharing your experience with us
|
Interesting old machinery, would be business class back in the day!
What train did you travel in ? |
We used the train once, here.
Big old diesel eclectic. The station that we alighted from the train- locally, that means climbing down the ladder, 4 rungs, and dropping the last several feet, consisted of a 2 sided building- that’s a wall and what passes for a roof; The ground doesn’t count- and a bench. It wasn’t bad, to be fair. Ticket was optional. I found this out after paying. The return journey could have been coordinated by British rail. Train cancelled- wrong timetable. Come back tomorrow. Is the train definitely running tomorrow? Maybe. We see tomorrow. From what I can tell, rolling stock doesn’t wear out here. It either dissolves in place, or just never comes back. |
Just dropped by and seen your pictures of trains and family....my goodness it has been a long time and great to read your posts Mark.
Hope the flying is still enjoyable , still 737s or have you moved onto other types ? Only flying here is in my dreams now....sad but true. ATB, Frank. |
Hi Frank. Thanks.
It’s been an interesting couple of years. Still on B737. I suspect I have a bit more fun than many! New project coming up, but I’d rather be home more, now. |
