TRUE STORY:
me and a mate were booking into a hotel in Stockport once and I had to give my name which produced the usual jokes (THE Stuart Hall was a regular on Local Manc radio at the time, and had recently been done for shoplifting).
when they'd run out of them, they asked my mate his name, which was "Steve Austin".
Took a long time to convince the reception staff we weren't taking the ****.

I bet it was Brebury Hall................ they had and still have a very stringent door policy. I bet it was grab a granny night, do they still exsisit.... I could technically qualify now lol

It was Bredbury Hall and as guests of Dougie Flood.
If you don't know who Dougie was then you missed one of Manchesters greatest characters. RIP.
And funnily enough it was "grab a grannie" night and I pulled a right cracker who made my life fantastic for 3 years and then a living ****ing hell for the next 2.
I'm not bitter :ihih:

Yes I knew Dougie Flood was, didn't he mysteriously drown in the pond outside the hall. Us Stockport lasses can be a bit psychotic, if she was indeed from the area..... Emjay doesn't call me the Northern Harridon for nothing. Sounds like you have an interesting story to tell......
