have you ever driven one in anger if not you wont get it untill you have :lol:

sweet as you like that one

not my colour though

I driven one angry, does that count??:lol::lol:
Seriously though, each to their own, but the looks don't do anything for me.
I still find myself looking out of the window at the quattro, and the grale, and if I never drove them again, I 'd be happy just gazing :)

:lol::lol::lol:

as much as i love the five pot i would still have a mexico/rs 200/twin cam any day

but you do have to enjoy drifting for ultimate pleasure :lol:

.

Gorgeous example there.

Loved all the Signal colour range.

Really emphasised the era these were made in.:tup:

rich,

being the pedant again, the Mexico, RS2000, RS1600 and T/C were all Mk1's, the Mexico and RS2000 were re-incarnated in Mk2 form, and none actualy drive that well; as for drifting; in a Mexico or RS2000, in standard form? You'd have to be trying very hard, and the RS1600 & T/C are too expensive and or fragile to try it with.

Rose tinted specs are wonderful, but any modern hatch (not even hot) would kill one dynamically ( having owned a mint Mexico and RS2000 'back in the day', and SteveT63 and I turning down a brown RS1600).:hand:

Oh and have a look at the one coming up for sale at Anglia Car Auctions imminently;

perfect in Terracotta ( a sort of salmony-redy colour; just like the one I had)

Yeh it looks really nice in that colour Signal Green. I'm sure its a 77 car.
I'll try to get more details.
There will be a full feature in Performance Ford very soon

both my mex mk1 amd 2 used to drift quite nicley on the loose stuff thankyou

maybe i was just trying very hard :lol:

but then again i never owned minters dont see the point its a car so drive it i dont own things just to look at or have trailer queens it kind of defeats the object somewhat :D

no rose tinted specs here i loved the mex especially the mk 1 and would have one again if i could afford it

still each to his own

Apart from being an 'R' reg, some clues are;

Ford badge spelled out on letters rather than an oval badge with Ford thereon
early model side stripes

the car appears to be a non-custom;- non-remote controlled drivers door mirror, Scheel seats, non custom steering wheel, no radio/cassette player or roof aerial, non-tinted glass (could have but difficult to tell from the images) etc, although I would guess someone has added,
x-pack alloys (non-custom would have steels), dashboard clock, rear panel between lights painted black (body colour on non-custom) etc

But bloody nice, no matter what!

Willbo 07-04-11 08:38 PM

I'll get the full sp tomorrow

styler 07-04-11 09:07 PM

X pack alloys were 7.5 inch.... theyre 7 inch...

car looks amazing.. zetec on TBs should run very nicely... bit of modern power in a classic body .... my kinda style...:tup::tup:
