Must admit we did really enjoy the Great Central Railway Steam event. Only there for one day out of the four but very well done.

It was great to see Steam locomotives not just working passenger trains but freight and postal as well.

First time i'd had a full english breakfast whilst being hauled by a Standard 5 (73129) an old Patricroft (Salford) loco, my original neck of the woods.

Will be superb when they get that bridge re-built over the mainline at Loughborough.

great shots there, andy but this is the beast for me . . still have great memories of spotting them back in the early '80s on the odd occasion that myself and my school chum would sneak off on a british rail "mystery tour" from glasgow central and end up down your neck of the woods in those fabulously shabby mk1 carriages!

ps why is it when i reluctantly watch anything top gear that i wish a horrible death for jeremy clarkson?? i was hoping to see that lovely blue peak travelling in his direction on the same line while he does his cringeworthy commentary . . how nice would that be to get called to that job!!!
