Hey fella, no she's not purring yet, growling maybe as the exhaust is only a downpipe at the moment! I wish i could leave it like that, sounds awesome!!!

I have spent the last few days stripping her down, in this weather we've been having I noticed that both screens and both quaterlights are leaking so all the bonded glass is going to have to come out.

When I tried to take the carpets out to dry them, they started to fall apart!!

I'm going to have to make a Devon trip to see Saint001, is there anything you need picked up?

RE the running problems, I'm going to try and borrow some gauges from a "mate" but if I can't get the K-jet to work properly then I'm not spending another £350 on it, I'll rip it out in favour of an efi system.

Sorry if my reply on FB seemed a bit off, I wasn't trying to be rude, just a bit pissed

Hope your baby's running well? regards Peter

No, the engine it'self is sweet, it has only done 10k since I rebuilt it, so no knocking or anything like that.
I also had the metering head, and warm up regulator rebuilt and the injectors checked and cleaned at a total cost of £350 so i was a bit miffed at to why it started to play up within less than a year, but have now left it far to long to try and get any sort of warranty on them.
Yes I bought it from a friends dad, I asked about an engine which he used to have but had chucked out, then out of the blue the car came up for sale a month later. I had already bought it before I realised quite how rare it was.
The good news is that I now have a target date to get her on the road 13/2/2010 to be the bridesmaids car at my sisters wedding

Thanks, and yes get to the bottom of it I will, if I cant do anything with the standard K-jet system then EFI it will have to be (saying that Dave has running problems with his). But Puglife on here is talking of a project he is doing to fit the motronic system from a 3B 20v onto a KG 10v. I have asked him about this and am anxiously awaiting his reply, lets hope it's not a top secret project!
Oh, friend request on Faceache as Coxy so aptly calls it!, done. Ill have a look at that quattro place now cheers, P

Unfortunatly not good sir, she does run but is neither quick or paticularly driveable.
I'm letting the tank get as low as possible because I'm going to have another look in there, check the check valve on the pump, possibly even change the pump. I have been through the electrics with a fine tooth comb, and I'm now sure it is down to fuelling,
