    Hi Coxy,

    Couldi pick your brain?

Got a mate that has stumbled across a 1976 b1 estate and has been asked to make an offer!!

The car looks very tidy in the pic but no info other than that. What do they go for in good nic?

I would have asked in the general forum, but I think he needs to make a quick decision, so I thought go straight to you.

    all the best,al

Hi Coxy ,I read through bits and bobs on here most evenings and can tell you know about cleaning cars.
I thought I was pretty good at it too, but having seen some of your work my hat comes off to you.
What I 'd like to know is have you ever put together any kind of simple, idiots guide to the use of clay bars, cuts and waxes.
I have a new toy, ( 95 coupe v6 in byzanz purple met ) and as smart as she is I think I'd like to "give her some stick ".
I don't want to spend a mint on trying all the stuff on the market and I don't valet for a living , so won't need the best machinery available.
In the past I have sworn by Autoglym products and recently came across Maguires Carnuba , which I used on my wifes Amulet red A4 cabby and found to be satisfying
I read also that "t-cut" is not as good as may have previously thought.
So my question ,if there can be an answer, for an enthusiast who doesn't want to break the bank, what practice and which products do you believe to be the best all rounders for a decent shine and reasonable protection.
    Many thanks
    Stuart
